‘King of the High Banks 88’ Set for Slinger July 18

Slinger, WI- The top weekly short track drivers will invade the high banks of Slinger Super Speedway on Sunday night July 18 for the first running of the ‘King of the High Banks 88’ during Old Wisconsin Smokehouse Night. Track champions from across Wisconsin and Northern Illinois will set their sights on this marquee mid-summer showdown while young challengers will look to upset the Big 8 Series field.

“As a race fan, I can hardly wait to see the Big 8 Late Models at Slinger,” commented Gregg McKarns of the Big 8 Series. “When you combine the Slinger veterans with the guys that are picking up wins across the countryside on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at their home track, it promises to be a fantastic show for the fans.” 2005 Big 8 Series Champion and two-time Slinger Super Speedway Late Model Champion Jon Reynolds, Jr added “The Slinger Big 8 show will be one of the most exciting late model races of the summer.”

Over forty Late Models are expected for this event including Champions from not only Slinger, but Dells Raceway Park, Madison International Speedway and Rockford Speedway. In addition to a complete Big 8 Series show utilizing progressive racing in the dashes, showdowns and last chance races, fans will also be treated to Midwest Sportsman, Thunderstocks, Slinger Bees, Figure 8’s plus American Super Cup action.

Weekly Sunday night racing continues each Sunday night at the ‘World’s Fastest ¼ Mile Oval’ featuring Super Late Models, Late Models, Midwest Sportsman, Thunderstocks, Slinger Bees and Figure 8’s.
