Elko, MN- The Big 8 Late Model Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet will be part of the 4th annual Thunderstruck 93 event at Elko Speedway this September 21 and 22. Top Big 8 Series competitors as well as numerous weekly feature winners from Illinois and Wisconsin will be invited to this invitational non-points event. The weekly Elko Big 8 competitors will be protecting their home turf as the out of towners invade the state of the art facility for the first time.

“My goal is to bring a dozen top guns to Elko to go toe to toe with Minnesota’s weekly Big 8 drivers. With the quality of racing that these drivers, cars and the facility at Elko provide, it is going to be an outstanding event.” Commented Big 8 Series Director Gregg McKarns. “This is a cool event, with the ASA Midwest Tour, Mid-American Stock Cars, ASA Trucks and the Thunder Cars and now our Big 8 All-Star event, what a great way to celebrate the life and times of Dan Ryan, who the Thunderstruck event is named after.”

Friday night September 21 will see time trials at 5pm with 250 make or break laps in which drivers will race their way into the feature event beginning at 7pm, followed by a night of free musical entertainment. The green flag will wave on five feature events at 7pm on Saturday September 22 highlighted by the Big 8 All-Star 58 and ASA Midwest ‘Thunderstruck 93’ 125 Lap Feature event.
