Latest Update from Oktoberfest

Jeremy Miller won the Big 8 Series Last Chance race. Tyler Sauter was second. Those two will join the feature field for the feature race later tonight.

Tim Syvrud and Tim Noble finished first and second in the final last chance race for the Big 8 Series. Those two earned a spot for their feature race later tonight.

The top two in qualifying advanced to the 48-lap feature event later tonight.

In the first heat, it was Todd Korish winning the heat while Bill Niles made a last lap pass on Jeremy Miller to take the second spot. Miller will have to go through the last chance race to make the feature event.

Jim Duchow won the second heat with Adam Degenhardt in second heat.

Ed Szelagowski held off Scott Broughton to win the third heat and will advance to the feature event.

Current Big 8 Series point leader Michael Bilderback got his starting spot in the feature event as he won the final heat. Ryan Miles finished second.

The Last Chance Race will be coming up later on tonight.

Qualifying Results

Brad Powell set the fast time among 67 competitors on hand for the BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet with a fast time of 20.459 seconds. Skylar Holzhausen was second with a time of 20.497 seconds and Tony Bagstad was third with a time of 20.526 seconds. Wes Coon was fourth with a time of 20.550 seconds and Brent Kirchner rounded out the top five with a 20.589 seconds.

The big news to come out of qualifying is that Michael Bilderback and Jeremy Miller, the top two in the point standings, did not qualify in the top-14 and will have to come through last chance races to make the show tonight.

The racing action will get underway at 4:00 pm from La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway.
