Green Bay, WI- Drivers utilizing the GM Performance 604 Crate Engine are now eligible for the Gandrud Chevrolet Crate Challenge at each BRP Big 8 Series event during the 2009 season as well as a year end bonus for being the highest finishing crate motor in the final point standings. Gandrud’s Chris Slack unveiled a $1000 program which will award the top crate participant with a $100 check at each 2009 event as well as a $200 prize to the 2009 Crate Challenge Champion.
The GM Performance Chevrolet Crate Engine has proven to be a viable option on the popular Midwest based series which features the top weekly late model drivers from across the region. Rising star Michael Bilderback fell just one point shy of the 2008 Big 8 Series Championship with his GM Crate Engine powered Monte Carlo. Since the inaugural Big 8 Series season, one quarter of all feature events have seen a GM Crate Engine in Victory Lane at their conclusion.
