Big 8 National Short Track Championships Entries Growing

Loves Park, IL- The roster of drivers looking to capture the Loves Park Motorsports 108 lap feature this Saturday night October 3 during the 44th annual National Short Track Championships (NSTC) continues to grow. Included in the BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet list are three drivers with seven Rockford Speedway Championships each, three current track champions and rising stars alike.

JEFFERSON, WI (Saturday, September 19, 2009) - Ross Kenseth’s season in the BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet continues to shine as he won the 2009 Wisconsin State Championship presented by Miller Brewing Company at Jefferson Speedway in Jefferson, WI. Kyle Jarlsberg and Jason Erickson each claimed feature wins in the Twin 65-lap feature events that highlighted the two days of racing at Wisconsin’s Action Track.

Jason Erickson wins the second 65 feature. Ross Kenseth is the 2009 Wisconsin State Champion. Full release will be posted later.

8:55 PM Update
Kyle Jarlsberg won the first 65 with Scott Broughton on second. Ross Kenseth beat Doug Hahn by a nose for third. Jeremy Miller rounded out the top-five. Top-11 inverted for the second 65.

JEFFERSON, WI (Friday, September 18, 2009) - Jason Schuler led wire-to-wire to win the 35-lap Preview Feature for the BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet on the first night of the two-day Wisconsin State Championships presented by Miller Brewing Company at Jefferson Speedway in Jefferson, WI. The field consisted of the drivers who have already qualified for tomorrow night’s Twin 65’s main event.

7:45 PM Update
Ross Kenseth was the fastest in qualifying with a time of 14.237 seconds. Jon Reynolds Jr. was second with a time of 14.279 seconds. Full results are on the site.

6:15 PM Update
Qualifying is underway for the other divisions at the Wisconsin State Championships. The BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet will be up shortly. 48 cars will be qualifying for tomorrow night's Twin 65's at Jefferson Speedway. Racing will get underway at 8:00 pm tonight and 6:30 pm tomorrow night.

Dixieland 38 Update from Wisconsin International Raceway

This is the live blog for the BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet "Dixieland 38" at Wisconsin International Raceway today.

Ross Kenseth set a new track record with a lap of 20.648 seconds in qualifying to set fast time. He rolled for an inversion of 7 and will start seventh in the feature.

The polesitter for the "Dixieland 38" is Jesse Oudenhoven.

The green flag will fly on the "Dixieland 38" in the next five minutes.
