Rockford, IL- The BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet has released the 2009 schedule for the popular Midwest based group which highlights the best weekly drivers from tracks across Wisconsin and Illinois. Rockford Speedway will host the opening event with the running of the 32nd annual Spring Classic featuring a 108 lap feature event for the Big 8 Series contingent.
Rockford, IL- Lefthander Chassis and the Midwest Racer’s Auction and Trade Show announced today a joint effort to provide the Racer’s Winter Get-A-Way Destination on Friday January 9 and Saturday January 10, 2009. With both organizations hosting short track racing industry events just five minutes apart in the greater Rockford area, a Weekend Racer’s Pass is being offered to attendees for just $12.
Miller Wins Championship by One Point over Bilderback

WEST SALEM, WI (Saturday, October 04, 2008) – It was 15 years ago this weekend that a young driver named Matt Kenseth held off Ken Lund to win the Oktoberfest 100 feature. Tonight, his 15-year-old son Ross took home his first Oktoberfest win by capturing the BRP Big 8 Series 48-lap feature event. Also Jeremy Miller defended his Big 8 Series championship as he won it by one point over Michael Bilderback.
Jeremy Miller won the Big 8 Series Last Chance race. Tyler Sauter was second. Those two will join the feature field for the feature race later tonight.
Tim Syvrud and Tim Noble finished first and second in the final last chance race for the Big 8 Series. Those two earned a spot for their feature race later tonight.
The top two in qualifying advanced to the 48-lap feature event later tonight.

LOVES PARK, IL (Saturday, September 27, 2008) – The Saturday night action at the Rockford Speedway was at a high at the 43rd Annual Army National Guard National Short Track Championships with Jon Reynolds Jr. having a Hollywood style finish to win the BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet 108-lap feature event. Doug Bennett, Jim Tate Jr. and Pat Ecklund also took home wins.

Qualifying and Qualifier races have completed for the Big 8 Series at Rockford Speedway.
In the first qualifier, it was Travis Dassow winning the first qualifier heat with Brady Liddle in second and Skylar Holzhausen in third. Ryan Miles won the second with Kyle Shear in second and Tyler Sauter in third. Those six drivers advance to the 108-lap feature event later tonight.
Jefferson, WI- A near record forty nine drivers attempted to add their name to the list of winners during the Wisconsin State Championships Friday and Saturday night at Jefferson Speedway during BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet competition. Another driving force in the way of Hurricane Ike pushed wet weather into the region, but the damp weather couldn't stop 2007 State Champion and 2008 track Champion Jason Erickson or 2007 Jefferson Speedway Champion Doug Hahn from recording the twin 50 feature wins while Steve Dobbratz was crowned the 2008 Wisconsin State Champion.
West Salem, WI- It is now official, the BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet will be competing on Saturday night October 4 in a 48 lap Championship Feature during the legendary Oktoberfest Race Weekend at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. In what event organizers are predicting will be a World Record number of Late Models, the fourth year series will join the ASA Late Model North Division and ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour.

It’s often said that it takes several different components to make a championship caliber driver. Firstly, the equipment must be there for a driver to compete. Also that driver must have more than an average amount of skill to wheel the great equipment. But also, no matter how good a driver and his equipment are, that driver can always use a little luck to go there way and push them towards their ultimate result.
Ryan Carlson has set a Big 8 Series track record at Wisconsin International Raceway with a time of 20.690. He rolled a fourteen for a complete invert.
